A formal opening of the Forum will take place on the 3rd of September 2008. Programme of events will be announced shortly.

About the Forum

The Informatics Forum, is a landmark, a centre for innovation and interaction, located in the centre of the University's main campus, alongside new teaching, conference and technology transfer facilities in the Appleton Tower.

The Informatics Forum forms the 11,800m2 first phase of the University of Edinburgh Potter Row development project. More ...

Milestones

26 September 2005
Planning permission has been granted for the Informatics Forum. The plans and drawings are available here, or from the City of Edinburgh Council web site.
10 October 2005
Building work for the Informatics Forum has started. The construction work is captured by 3 web cams. Visit the construction web page to see the latest images.
16th June 2008
Staff and students start moving into their new building.
